Who’s Got Talent? We Do!

The annual GDCI Talent Show was a massive success this year!  We had eleven different acts showcasing twenty of our students on the big stage.  The event, which was hosted by our very own Gwyneth Pella, featured a few different musical genres – including rock, pop, musical theatre, and classical instrumental tunes.  Student performers ranged in age from grade seven through to grade twelve.

This show was started off with Maddy Hill and Jackson Million performing “The House of the Rising Sun” and finishing off with the local band called Stone School.  Performances in the middle included:
Maggie Durnin, Ethan Hewitt, Nathan Haas and Kyler Patterson doing a country/rock medley
Alyssa Stainforth, Makenna Wormington and Nicole Gilroy  – “With or Without You” by U2
Ava and Jackson Million – “Nobody Knows” by the Lumineers
Shauna Walduck – “Memory” from Cats
Elise Puska – Harp Solo – “The Swan”
Aaron Matthews “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran
Nola Gibson, Yasmeen Chamas, Sequoiah Zondervan – “Riptide”
Cody Graham – “Self Esteem” by The Offspring
Owen Durnin – “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran
Stone School – “There She Goes Again” by the Cars
As always, the sound tech team put made the performers sound their best by marking levels and adjusting as the show progressed.
Students are already preparing for the next show – the next GDCI Coffeehouse – which will take place in the Learning Commons (GDCI Library) on Thursday April 26th at 7:30pm.
